About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit from London to Hong Kong via Shanghai

I am flying from London to Hong Kong with a transit in Shanghai (6 hour between landing in Shanghai and boarding flight to Hong Kong).

I understand my entry and exit to/from Shanghai is covered by transit without visa (TWOV), but wanted to check I don't need to do anything online before boarding my flight to China.

All you have to do is to take a DIY covid test and to take a photo of the negative outcome on your smartphone. Also, you will have to fill out the Chinese Health Declaration Form. This is just randomly checked, but I advise you to do that just for your peace of mind.
