Visa is required for ferry trip between Hong Kong and Guangzhou

I am holding an Australian passport which will give me visa exemption of 3 months stay in Hong Kong as a visitor. Would you please advise whether I need a Chinese visa if I travel between Hong Kong and Guangzhou by ferry and I will complete my return trip within 48 hours? What other travel documents in addition to a valid passport I need on ferry travel between these two cities.
