About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Stopping in Guangzhou Baiyun airport for 17 hours

Hi, I have a changeover at Guangzhou Baiyun airport (it is 17 hours between each flight), and the only hotel I can stay at is in terminal 1, which requires me to leave the airport, as I arrive into terminal 2. I was wondering what the procedure was for this so I can plan ahead? I am coming from London and going to Vietnam.

Upon arrival, go to the 24/144 hour visa free transit counter, show your passport adn onward flight ticket to obtain a temporary enter permit, then you will be allowed to leave the airside and go to your hotel in T1. Actually, with the permit, you can go anywhere in the city.
