About:China Visa

Is there a free Visa Exemption entry 144 hours (6 days) rule to enter China

i will travel Bangkok with China Southern to Guangzhou 13july 2023 and fly return Guangzhou to Bangkok on 18th July, airticket and hotel paid. But i still did not request China visa entry yet. I have French paspport.
Is there an alternate possibility such as to fly Bangkok to Hongkong with cathay Pacific then enter China via Kowloon railway station immigration then take high speed train from there to Guangzhou ? i have already my China Souther air ticket paid Guangzhou to Bangkok (Thailand). DO you think the entry port by train is okay or need to be an airport ? Otherwise a solution to fly with Cathay Pacific from Hongkong airport to Guangzhou airport ? Do you know if French passport need a visa to enter Hongkong airport immigration ?
Thanks for your help and advises. Didier SAI. from France

Your route Bangkok - HK - Guangzhou - Bangkok is perfectly eligible for 144-hour visa free transit. But you need to fly into Guangzhou from HK; travel by high speed train will make the route not ineligible.

French passport holders do not need a visa to enter HK and can stay for up to 90 days.
