About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Interline ticket to third country

Hi, my planned itinerary is Singapore>Shanghai>Hong Kong. Is this eligible for 144 hours visa free transit if my air tickets for Singapore>Shanghai and Shanghai>Hong Kong are bought separately via different airlines? Coz I read that the ticket to third country is "interline ticket", I don't know exactly what interline ticket means though.

If your citizenship belongs to 53 eligible citizenship, then your itinerary:

Singapore - Shanghai - Hong Kong

Is definitely and without any doubt eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in wider Shanghai area.

You can use separate tickets and unrelated airlines. This is all fine and acceptable. You should just have your ticket out of Shanghai to Hong Kong before you approach check-in in Singapore.

If you fulfill those criteria, you are without any doubt, good to go.
