chinese visa

Question

To obtain the visa, do I have to make an appointment to submit a visa application, then go home and wait. And then go back a second time to pick up the visa? Because it is a 170 mile round trip.  Can I pick up the visa the same day as submitting the application?Thanks

My wife applied today and will pick her passport up on Tuesday, you can have it posted back

Yes, you have to make an appointment to lodge the submission. As for collection, you don't have to show up in person; you can use the mail-back service at additional cost.
