If it is a through ticket, you don't need to do that. If they are two seperate tickets, you need to claim your luggage and recheck it. Anyway, you are advised to consult the staff when checking in the luggage at the departure airport.

Hi Ria

I have the same question. What happened in the end? Were you able to simply go to the next gate/flight *without* re-checking in your luggage / going through passport control?
