Eligible for 144 hour visa?

Hello,

is the route below eligible for 144 hour visa in Shanghai on both ways?

HEL-PVG
PVG-MNL (via HKG)
MNL-HKG
HKG-PVG
PVG-HEL

HEL-PVG-HEL (Finnair) flights are on one itinerary and PVG-MNL-HKG-PVG (Cathay Pacific) flights on another itinerary.

You are perfectly fine for 144 hour visa free transit twice.

As you can see, you should never omit to mention the immediate points before and after your mainland Chinese destination. In reality, these are the details that are of interest for the Chinese authorities:

Helsinki - Shanghai - Hong Kong

and

Hong Kong - Shanghai - Helsinki

Both itineraries are fine because Hong Kong, although part of China, acts as a third country in this 144 hour visa free transit regard.

It is also fine to have two or three sets of tickets and different airlines. They really do not have to be related to each other. The only important detail is that you are in, de facto, transit regardless if you want to stay in Shanghai up to 6 days.

Also, this is not 144 visa, but 144 hour visa free transit, so there is no visa at all.

Hope this helps.
