Australian applying for a Chinese visa when in India

Hi,

We will be leaving Australia and entering into India in our own vehicle in September 2023. We then plan to travel around India, pass through to Pakistan, up the Karakoram Hwy and into China at the Khunjerab border crossing using a Chinese tour company to make the crossing through Xinjiang Provence and into Kyrgyzstan in April 2024. The problem for us is that from what we have read, a Chinese tourist visa is only valid for 90 days after it has been issued? If we have the visa issued in Australia we will then not be entering China until 8 months later. So, can we possibly present to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in India to gain a tourist visa? We will be in India on a multi-entry Indian tourist visa. Thanks for your time

Well, in fact, it may be a little hard to acquire a China visa in the third country as a tourist. You may be rejected.
