About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Going to Hong Kong via Shenzhen by train

Hello,

I am a French citizen who is currently in Malaysia, and I would like to go to Hong Kong through Shenzhen.
I am planning to fly from Malaysia to Shenzhen and then take a train to Hong Kong.
Am I eligible for the 24hours visa free? Or do I have to apply for the Shenzhen 5days VOA?

I will stay in Hong Kong for 2 days and then go back to Malaysia through Shenzhen.
Will I need another visa if I apply for the 5days VOA to go back to Malaysia?

Your first itinerary is eligible for the 24-hour visa-free transit.

For the second one, yes, you do need to apply for a 5-day VOA. It is suggested to take a ferry from HK to Shenzhen Shekou Port and try to queue up as early as possible in front of the visa office. The opening time is 9:00 - 13:00 & 14:30 - 16:30.
