Long Term Stay in China

Hi, I am Pakistani and US citizen and want to send my son to China for medical education.
1- Can my whole family stays in China during his education years and more?
2- Being a US citizen, can I buy a house in China rather than to live on rental?
Please send me more details in this regard. Thank you.

1. Generally, the family members eligible for the S1 visa include spouses, parents, sons or daughters under the age of 18 or parents-in-law; it may be a little hard for other family members to get such a visa.

2. You can buy a house but the requirements are strict. Foreigners can only buy one house in China and the local real estate authorities also require: a foreigner's work permit and residence permit in China and proof of social security. This is to prove that the foreigner has been living and working in China and has a need to buy a property in China.
