About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Official announcement available?

Hello, I can not find any official information regarding the 144h-visa free transfer from my chinese embassy or other public sources. Is this officially released information?

The best way how to see the real official interpretation is to insert your planned itinerary into Timatic. Timatic is really the only official interpretation available and in the same time also the most important because exactly Timatic will be consulted when you check-in at your original destination.

In reality, the only detail that is important is that the immediate points before and after your Chinese destination are in different countries or eligible territories (eligible territories are Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau).

By the way, it is important to know that 72 hour visa free transit is available only on a few destinations because it is 144 that is prevalent, especially in the most frequented Chinese destinations.
