About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit ticket

Hi,
can I have two tickets LAX-XMN, then XMN-BKK, or do I need one ticket only LAX-XMN-BKK ?
Can tickets be two different airlines or do they both need to be the same airline?

You are allowed to have two totally separate tickets and you are allowed to travel with different airlines. The only detail that matters is that your immediate points before and after your mainland China destination (transit point) have to be in two different countries or eligible territories (eligible territories: Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau).
