Shenzhen to Hong Kong private transfer

I have a private car taking me back to Hong Kong on Thursday. When you pass through immigration do you have to go out of the car like you do when you enter China?

When I came pre pandemic to Shenzhen on the return journey back to Hong Kong I didn’t have to go through all the immigration as I had to get into China.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!
