About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

London> Shanghai> Japan

Do I need a Visa or is it just a transit Visa? How do I get a transit Visa? Do I need a PCr test or any other forms to fill out before , for the Chinese government?

You do not need a visa of any kind. If your entire transit time in Shanghai is less than 24 hours, you will be ceovered by 24 hour visa free transit and if your transit time exceeds 24 hours, you will enjoy 144 hour visa free transit in wider Shanghai area. So, you do not need a visa of any kind at all. Of course, this is valid if you have written your itinerary correctly.

As far as covid related formalities are concerned, it is almost certain that nobody will ask you anything, but you should do, for your peace of mind a DIY test and have a photo of it and also fill the Health Declaration Form. That's it.
