About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Filipino crossing HK-Shenzhen border

I carry a Philippine passport. Can I enter Shenzhen thru its border via train or bus from Hong Kong without a visa? If so, how long can I stay in China? Will I qualify for a TWOV if I plan a day trip (24hours) via bus or train from Hong Kong-Shenzhen-Hong Kong? If not, how about flying direct from Philippines to Shenzhen airport...can I enter without a visa? How long can I stay in that case, if possible? Lastly, If I can enter Shenzhen via Hong Kong without a visa, can I travel some place else in China?

I'm sorry, you are not eligible for the Shenzhen 5-day Visa on Arrival or 144-hour visa-free transit. The only policy you can use is 24-hour visa-free transit and you need to fly from Philippine to Shenzhen and go to HK within 24 hours; the confirmed ticket proving you are going to HK is needed in this case; and you cannot go to other cities.

To ensure a smooth trip, I recommend you to contact the airlines to see if they allow you to get onboard without a China visa.

If you also want to travel to other places in China, you'd apply for a China visa in advance.
