About:Visa on Arrival

Travel to Shenzhen from HK for Malaysian

Hi, May I know if Malaysian is eligible to the 5-day VOA? Which port should we go?
Do I need to leave from Shenzhen airport? or I can go back to HK?

Carol, the situation with eligibility for Shenzhen VOA is currently quite indecisive and Malaysia is the group of countries where we do not have a clear situation as if the Malaysian citizens are eligible or not. If I were you, I would postpone my visit to Shenzhen.

If you decide to go, I would suggest you to use Luohu (Lo Wu) border crossing, but you are advised to be there in the earlier morning hours because the pressure on border visa offices are very strong as well as the waiting times.

If you are successful in obtaining a Shenzhen VOA, you can return to Hong Kong by taking any mean of transport, even a high speed train, any border crossing and you can, if you want, take a flight from Shenzhen to some third country on a nonstop flight.
