About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72-Hour Entry or Hong Kong->Beijing->Hong Kong Itinerary?

Hello,

I am a USA passport holder currently living in Hong Kong. Can I fly Hong Kong->Beijing->Hong Kong for one weekend and use the 72-hour visa-free entry? Or do I need to have 3 total countries such as Hong Kong->Beijing->Taiwan->Hong Kong?

You need 3 countries or better to say 3 eligible geographical entities.

In my opinion, the most convenient option in your case would probably be:

Hong Kong - Beijing - Macau

Very simple...

Also, this is 144 and not 72 hour visa free transit. It used to be 72 hour, but in Beijing it was replaced by 144 hour years ago...
