Transit in china

Dear officer!
I’m a foreign student, who is studying in Moscow. I booked a flight back to my hometown that I had to transit for 2 hours in Xi'an and 11 hours in Shanghai. Do I need to apply for a transit visa or any procedure before travelling?
Thank you so much.

Hi, if you only transfer in mainland China less than 24 hours, you don't have to apply for any visa. You are completely eligible for the 24-hour visa free transit. No procedure is needed. When stopping in SH, if you want to leave the airport, they will give you a temporary entry permit stamp or sticker.
