About:China Family Reunion Visa

Q2 visa for son

My family are in China and our son is graduating with his Visa expiring at the end of July and he will leave China at this time for travel. We want to apply for a Q2 for him to return to us in August. Can we apply for the Q2 while his current visa is still valid? Or if was to apply in hong kong and receive the visa can he then travel into the mainland straight away? - I note the 'apply 1 months in advance' recommendation

Your son can only apply for S visa depending on his family working or studying in China.

It's not recommended to apply for another visa right now. Because once the new visa is issued, the previous one will turn invalid.

He can apply in HK, but it's not guaranteed he will get it for sure. The success rate is much higher when applying in his homecountry.
