About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Information about 144 hours entry for US passport

Traveling to SFO- hong Kong 2 nights stay.
Hong Kong train to shenzen (apply 144 hour)5 days stay then
Shenzen- Hong Kong back and 1 night in Hong Kong.
Then apply another 144 hours and 3 nights in guangzou and travel back guangzou to San Francisco.

1. HK-Shenzhen-HK is not eligibel for the 144-hour transit as no third country or region is involved.
2. HK-Guangzhou-San Francisco is eligible.
3. Why not travel this way: HK-Shenzhen-Guangzhou-San Francisco? Both Shenzhen and Guangzhou are in Guangdong province where 144-hour transit is adopted. But you need to know your total duration of stay in Shenzhen and Guangzhou is no more than 144 hours if going by this way.

You can not flight from HK to Shenzhen. I do not think the train has 144 hr visa free transit.
