About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

I am applying for a D visa - permanent resident but I still need to indicate how long I am staying.

What should I put there? 10 years or what? I know I have to apply for permanent residency within 30 days of arrival in China.

If it's your first time to China, you can only apply for a temporary resident permit and the duration of stay should be in accordance with your purpose of coming here. For instance, if for study, it should be equally long with your study time; if for work, be accordance with your work contrct...
