RP extension for a student

Can a student ask an extension of his RP/ If so what are the procedure?

If you indeed need to stay in China for a longer time, you can ask for an extension of your RP at the local exit and entry administration by providing documents that can justify your stay purpose.

What are the documents required if I intend to have my internship in China after my graduation? Can I apply personally at EEB or do I need documents from the university to request for the extension. Thank you
