About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Foreigner with China PR, will children be able to stay in China using Residence Permit

I have worked in China for 5 years under work permit, and I qualify to apply for China PR. But due to inability to travel overseas to get children's birth certificates, I plan to apply China PR for me and my wife only and apply for the children later. We will be in China the whole time of the PR application.

If my PR is approved, will I need to switch my children's current Residence Permit (based off my current work permit) to a new Residence Permit based off the newly-issued China PR?

Is this a common process or are there complications and risks involved?

Dear, as there is no explict regulation on this, I advise you to contact the local exit and entry administration for the requirements.
