About:China Family Reunion Visa

What does require for humanitarian Q2 visa.

Hello, could anyone tell me what does Chinese embassy require for humanitarian visa. My elderly parents live in China, I haven't been able to visit them since the country locked down and my mom misses me so much. She is holding up for me but I am so worried. I applied Q2 visa the embassy reply saying my situation is not emergency. Please anyone knows what documents do they need. Thanks in advance.

Hi Yiren, China may consider situations where family members in China are "critically ill" meaning on the verge of dying or already dead. My friends had to ask Chinese hospitals to issue a "on the verge of dying" medical report or death certificate of their parents. Even then, some applications were turned down. I am in the same situation as you. Sadly the earliest China seems to be willing to open its borders is 2023 or end of 2022 according to Wall Street Journal. It's really sad that we can't see our parents (mine are 87 this year). I dread I may not see them ever again because of China's border closure.
