About:Overstaying in China & Penalty

My passport expired and i just got a new passport. I couldn't extend my visa because of an passport

will I be in any trouble because I received my new passport in 40 days

You mean you overstayed the China visa because of the passport renewal? If yes, how long? It's not a big deal for a few days but quite a problem for long time. You may need to pay a fine.
