Issuing visa abroad

Hello there, I'm Caroline and I overstayed for two days (I really did miscalculated my stay time and ended up with a 2-day overstay period). When I left China the entry-exit officer told me I'd have to "face the punishment" for overstaying and then I started crying. Another officer came and calmed me down saying it's no big deal and just gave me a warning paper, but nothing on my passport. My visa application was rejected anyways in 2019 in Hong Kong and they said I'd have to go back to my home country to apply for a visa due to my 2-day overstay. I then went back to China because my tourist visa was still valid and managed to sort a work visa directly in mainland China. Now that all my visas are expired I can't go back to China, first I need to sort a visa out. The embassy in my country has been closed for over a year already and I want to resume my professional activities in China. What alternatives do I have now? Will I never be able to get a visa abroad?

Your previous overstay was not serious, so it should not affect your future visa application. Reasons for visa rejections can vary. Now the situation is more complicated because of the pandemic control. You can try to contact the Chinese Embassy in your home country or any other nearby country where you can go, to reapply for a Chinese work visa. Good luck!
