Can my wife change her visa from spouse to work visa in China?

My wife has been given an interview opportunity for a chinese company in Shanghai. She has the qualifications for the position and has some very specific qualities this positions requires such as being a native Thai speaker. Is it possible to change spouse visas to work visas in Shanghai? I understand the strict protection of Chinese labor forces but the company has many Thai natives working for them in shanghai already. Is this possible?

If she is offered the position, then the company will/should assist in applying for a working permit.
