Q2 Visa issue

Hello, I'm currently staying in china on a Q2 visa, my visa expires on December 16th?and being unable to leave earlier in the year I got a visa extension in August. Yesterday we went to apply for a new visa but was told I would have to leave the country before applying for a new visa. Obviously if I leave it may be along time before I can return. Is this correct and is there any ways for me to stay in China?

I am in Jingzhou Hubei province and I also am also going through the same thing with my Q2 visa. I was told yesterday that since it is impossible to travel out of the country to any other country that the exit and entry department would issue me a further 6 month extension on my Q2 but they will then cancel my Q2 (which still is valid for 5 more years) and then at the end of that 6 months I would have to leave the country... I am lost for answers as to why they would cancel my Q2.

Hi Matthew. Did you manage to resolve your Visa issue? Couldn’t you get another extension past the 16th. If not what did they say you can apply for as I am in a similar situation. Thanks
