About:Chinese Embassy in South Africa

Is the Chinese visa office in Durban is opened and need the process that I need to now follow?

I was supposed to leave with my z visa for China in April and then the lockdown was implemented. What is the process I need to follow now once I have received the PU letter.
I have been hearing that we need to apply online and await a date for an appointment that is for Johannesburg. I am from Durban and a bit confused. Your assistance and advise is much appreciated on getting clarity on what I need to do.

Ronnelle, yes, you need to submit the application to the visa center at Johanesburg. Before going there, you need to make an appointment on the website of this visa center.

The following documents will be required:
1. Original passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of application, with 2 or more blank visa pages.
2. The new version of the application form using the online system and download and print it by full colour and sign all pages (Please make sure that the uploaded photo passes the system inspection. If it does not pass the inspection, visa center cannot accept the application)
3. Copy of passport, copy of last Chinese visa, copy of work residence permit
4. A copy of the residence permit, scan the QR code of the work permit card and print out the details (the last item is the valid period of the permit card), and if both the residence permit and the work permit card have expired, please reapply for the Notification letter of Foreigner’s Work Permit.
5. Employment letters from Chinese employer

I already have a z visa that expired on 10 June 2020. I am awaiting the new work permit from the school. Please assist in the process hereof and do I have to pay again.
