About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Transfer from Student Visa to Work Permit

Is it possible to transfer a student visa to a work permit if I meet the requirements for a work permit, WITHOUT leaving the country? I currently hold a student residence permit for Shanghai.

You can ask your employer to apply a work permit for you, and then try to renew your residence permit at the local exit and entry administration.
