transit visa for mix planetrain

Question

We are arriving in Beijing on June 23, 2021 and then taking the bullet train to Shanghai and Hong Kong. We will cross over to Hong Kong on June 23rd. Can we qualify for the 72 hour TWOV?

My rationale; since you won't come back to the same airport (Beijing) to get out to the third country  then that visa-free should not apply. Anyway I  am not an expert in that matter or immigration officer.
