About:Policy for Foreigners with Immediate Family Living in China

my wife is an American citizen with elderly parents in China

My wife is a Chinese born, however she became an American citizen 2 years ago. She has elderly parents that live in China needing her help. Both parents are 90 years old each. We have been trying for over a month to contact the Chinese consulate first in Houston that closed and the Chinese embassy in D.C. Have sent many emails to the consulate asking for help but no one answered back. Does anyone know what I can do ?

John, what help do you expect? Attending her parents? Or getting a visa to go back to China?

she already has an L visa. just trying to get my wife to visit both of her old parents. I have tried to reach out to the Chinese consulate in New York, since the Houston consulate closed as we live in Georgia. They don't answer their phone nor they reply on emails sent.

If she is now an American citizen she cannot return to China under the current restrictions. She will have to wait until tourists are allowed back into the country.

On a side note if she still has her Chinese passport, I would not have her to try and use that to get back into China. China has started keeping track of citizens that have given up Chinese citizenship and if she is flagged, she could be in serious trouble. We have friends where this happened and the (former) Chinese citizen is not allowed to leave China.
