About:China Visa

What constitutes necessary economic, trade, scientific or technological activities

Hello,

I am a US citizen who accepted an Expat managerial assignment to China starting on Oct 1. Currently, only foreign nationals with a visa obtained after 3/26/2020 can enter into China, but the consulate in the US is closed.

However, "Foreign nationals coming to China for necessary economic, trade, scientific or technological activities or out of emergency humanitarian needs may apply for visas at Chinese embassies or consulates." according to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

I am wondering if my situation (US citizen working for a biotechnology company to support the Chinese market) can qualify for a working visa application?

Thank you!

Eric

Eric, you are advised you ask to your employer in China to confirm this at the local government, or you consult at the Chinese embassy in the US.
