About:Overstaying in China & Penalty

No visa penalty charges during covid-19 laws in China. True or false?

In March I was quarantined, I was told by the doctor there are no overstay penalties as the virus has created an unusual circumstance. She did not mention if this applies when I am in quarantine, or if it applies continually.

I think she refered to the automatic 2-month visa extension, so you actually did not overstay.
