Married to a chinese citizen but no work contract

Hello I am moving to China with my wife who is a chinese citizen. I intend to find a job in China but didn't yet. Can I apply a temporary residence permit, being married to a chinese citizen but not having any work contract?

If you don't work in China, it's ok not having any work contract.
