About:China Green Card (Permanent Residence Permit)

Permanent residence permit

Lived in China since Nov. 2012, married to a Chinese women Nov. 2013. Visited US Nov.2019, to Jan 2020. Wife owns her own apartment. Have renewed my temporary residence VISA three times so I have had three physicals, no problems. No problems legally. Have not worked because I was told I am not allowed to based on my VISA. Have to renew again by November this year (2020). Can I apply for a permanent residence permit and does that give me the right to work? I am 70 and get retirement income from the US

I have lived with my wife here in China Since September 2011. I applied for a permanent residence permit in February 2017. Although my original receipt says that I am to get a decision response within 6 months, it has now been 40 months. In the mean time, the 3 year Temporary Residence Permit we, as spouses of Chinese are eligible for must make do. Best of luck.
