When does the 2 month automatic extension expire

I read somewhere that the two month extension for all visas ends on May 27th. Is this true? Or is it a full two months after expiry for everyone. My Visa just expired so I'm wondering if I have until the beginning of July or until May 27th. Thanks guys. Difficult times.

Antonio, well, actually the two-month automatic visa extension was introduced from March 28, 2020, so even if you calculate a full two-month, it will expire around May 27th. You need to do something at the local exit and entry administration before May 27th to avoid overstaying in China.

What Daisy said is incorrect. You get a full two months, now two months from March 27.

Please stop sharing information if you are not sure about it. It does nothing but further confuse people.

I have been keeping up with the NIA (National Immigration Admin) Q&A website on a daily basis. Based on the answers I have read, once you are “auto extended” it stays that way for two months regardless of whether or not the NIA announces termination of the 60 day auto extension policy. Eg: If your visa expires on May 10th, it gets auto extended to July 10th. Even if the NIA decides to end the auto extension policy on May 27th or whatever date in the future, you are good through July 10th.
