About:China Visa

Options for Renewing Work (Z-Visa) Outside of China

Hello, I am a teacher holding a work visa in China - expiring July 20th. I am currently unable to return to China due to the travel restrictions and would like to know what my options are for visa renewal, if any. Also, are work visas among the type of visas being offered extensions? Thank you in advance for your answer.

As always, there is no way to renew your residence permit when outside Mainland China. Automatic extensions also only apply to those who are physically present in Mainland China. You will need to wait until Mainland China has reopened its border in two months.

I am in the same situation,with all original documents locked in China,on school campus,including my ID for my country,my petsonal belongings and medication,we just grabbed 2 sets of clothing not expecting this to be for so long,but where forced to leave China by employers,so much for humanitarianism and im looking for a new school,as my contract was terminated,a week ago,due to the pandemic but no schools can help me,transfer the visa.
