About:SG04-INTL

work related resident permit expire in march 31, 2020, want to change to resident

working in China for 6 years and recently retired, want to stay in china to take care of my 91 years old mother. What visa should I apply for or chance to apply for resident due to family reason?

You can go to the local NIA to get a family-based residence permit. There is no need to leave the country if you have not overstayed your current status. The process is quite straightforward if you have previously had hukou (if you still have a valid Resident ID card then you need to surrender that and deregister your hukou first).
