l visa expiring: automatic extension for 2 months? procedure?

Hi, friends,my original tourist visa was valid for 50 days.After that I got an extension for 30 days.Those 30 days are about to expire now. Since the beginning of March there is an automatic extension of stay of 2 months for foreigners.1. Does this automatic extension also apply for L visa holders?2. If yes, from which date do they start counting the 60 days?3. What is the procedure to get this extension?4. Where does one find the official information (link in English or Chinese) about this automatic 60 days extension for L visa?Thanks for your help,Maria from Belgium

1) yes.2) from the day your duration of stay will expire.3) you don't need to do anything. The duration of stay will automatically be extended in their system.4) you will have to call your local National Immigration Administration office or their airport office during business hours. So far there is only the video of the press conference and nothing else on the internet, but some in Beijing has called to confirm and the NIA said that it's basically the same with the press conference.

Hi, I am in the same situation. My tourist visa has expired and I am within the 2 months of extension. Is it safe to travel to other cities or will I be stopped at the train station or not accepted at the hotel for not having a visa? Or does everyone know about the extension?

When your tourist visa stay expires, regardless if you have a 10 year visa,  and the 60 day extension runs out, they wont give you any further extensions. Because there are flights now, you will be told you must leave China. If you overstay the extension, they will charge you 500 RMB each day up to 10,000 RMB and deport you.
