Tax payment

I live here in China permanently and never worked here in China and am retired and I have a full British state pension and no other income I was talking to a friend and they said that I have to pay tax on my British pension is that correct

If you stay in China for more than 180 days out of one calendar year then you are expected to pay income tax for your worldwide income. Your pension's status depends on the tax agreement the UK government has with China.

Also not sure if this is the case in China, but UK pensioners' pensions do not index with inflation in Canada.

Yes, I heard that if one's accumulated stay in China is longer than 183 days annually, then he needs to pay the tax.
