Renewing residency after 1 year

I was planning to go back to China in order to renew my residency visa so I can teach for another 6 months in China, I’ve been there a year and came back to Uk mid Jan for a month’s holiday . If I can’t get back into China due to Corona virus and flights cancelled , does anyone know if there is something else I can do? Thanks

If your work permit or residence permit expires while you are not in Mainland China, you may need to start the process of obtaining a new one from scratch (technically you must renew them a month before their expiration). Currently there are no special relief measures so this remains the policy.
