About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144hr Visa

If I arrive into Shanghai via Cruise ship, last port being Busan, Sth Korea and then fly home to Australia 4 days later does this qualify for 144hrs transit Visa?

OR
If I fly via Hong Kong on the way back to Melbourne does that also apply?

Thank you!

1) Yes.
2) Australians are already visa exempt for 90 days in HK and there is no visa-free transit scheme.

Thank you for your reply!

Just to clarify point 2) Do they qualify for the 144HR Chinese transit visa in Shanghai if they are travelling via Hong Kong on the way back to Australia?

Thanks

Yes. Hong Kong is considered a third country for immigration and customs purposes and being in transit to any third country will qualify.
