About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Would like to know if I need a Visa for the following trip:

Canada to Shangai, 3 days in Shanghai.
Shanghai to Taipei, Taiwan, 3 days in taipei.
Then going back.
Taipei to Shanghai, 1 day
Shanghai to canada.

Will the 72 hour transit apply or do I need to get a visa?
Thanks for the help!

You don't need a visa for both ways.

First way is fine for the 144h twov, return for the 24h twov (if your transit time is under 24 hours, otherwise you qualify for the 144h twov too).
