About:China Transit Visa

Is a transit visa necessary for the following itinerary?

Fly to Beijing from US; train to Tibet; fly to Viet Nam; fly to Shanghai; depart Shanghai for US. Approximately 2 nights in each location.

For your first entry, you need to get a visa as well as a Tibet Travel Permit. For your second entry, you can use the 144h visa-free transit in Shanghai.
