Filipino from Canada visiting Phils via PVG

Will a Philippine passport holder require transit visa to PVG (Shanghai) on the following trips?
PVG - MNL (from YVR) 6hr lay over; and
MNL - PVG (onward flight to YVR) 15hr lay over and would like to go out of the airport for sight seeing at downtown Shanghai? If transit visa is required, what type should I apply for?
Thanks.

Transit visa is not required for this trip. You can apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport in order to get out, but whether you can get it is at the discretion of immigration officers.
