Question on invitation letter for a Q2 Visa

My wife is Chinese, and she has a green card, and is living in America with me. We want to go to China to visit her family, and will be staying in a house she owns. Do I need a Q2 Visa? Can my wife give me the invitation letter, even though she is not living in China? Or should I get a letter from one of her family members?

Yes, you can apply for a Q2 visa, but your wife may not be able to issue you this invitation letter. You should get one from her family members in China.
