What are the spouse visa requirements?

I am a Japanese. My husband is American, has Z visa. I was trying to get S1, but because his visa duration is less than 6 months at the moment, I was told I can’t apply S1.
I was recommended to get tourist visa, then after arriving China I change to Spouse visa.
Can I apply for spouse visa?

Mika, it's likely that you can't apply for a spouse visa if your husband's China residence permit is not valid for more than 6 months. If you want to get a spouse visa, you need to ask your husband to renew his residence permit firstly.
