visa options for visiting spouse

I am working in China and have a Z visa. My wife would like to visit for an extended period of at least three months. What are our visa options? Would an S visa work under our circumstances? I have heard from colleagues that their spouses have arranged multi-entry tourist visas requiring them to leave the country every 90 days. Is that a realistic option?

Yes, your wife can apply for an S visa. It she can get an S2 visa to cover the entire trip, she doesn't need to leave every few months.
